Here are some of our dance videos over the years. This is brand new to the site and definitely a work in progress. Please excuse the quality as most of them are from old videos. Rather than dumping all of our videos in one go, we will be adding 100s more over time, either as a reward or punishment! Please feel free to watch, laugh, share and enjoy!
They can all be seen either here or on our new Youtube channel here
This is us in 1999 where we were in Cardiff performing a joint dance demonstration. We provided the Ballroom dances and Darren Bennett & Lilia Kopylova of Strictly Come Dancing fame danced the Latin dances.
This is us on our very first appearance of Come Dancing in 1994 dancing the Jive. Lisa is wearing red. We were only 18 and 17 years old and had been dancing together for about a year. You may notice the ‘Crazy Arms’ step we use in some of the classes.
This is from our 2016 Christmas Party – ‘The Godfather’. It features our Quickstep, Waltz, Viennese Waltz and Tango. Luke also makes an appearance! Thanks to Rhys Clatworthy for the video.
Here we are dancing at one of our dance holidays in Skipton in November 2016. It features our Viennese Waltz, Tango and Waltz. Thanks to Rhys Clatworthy for the video.
This is us (number 103) winning the Sussex Open Latin Championship in Hastings in 1996, aged 20 and 19.
This video shows the Final round with our Rumba intro dance and then Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. It’s also got the results at the end too.

3. No 142 – Ian Sharpe & Victoria Lawrence

In a subsequent ‘Dancenews’ article, Peter Elliott reported:
“For many people the highlight of the evening was the Sussex Open Championship. For me this event was totally dominated by the stylish dancing of Gareth Taplin & Lisa Hammond, whose sound technical expertise and rhythmical action easily won the day. They are a good looking, classy couple who I feel have the potential to become one of Britain’s formidable couples.”

This is from our 2015 Christmas Party. ‘All That Jazz’ from the film Chicago. Thanks to Stuart Goodall for the video.
For those times when you’re out dancing and nothing seems to be going right. Maybe you’ve trodden on your partner’s feet too many times or you’ve got your steps muddled or you’ve forgotten which foot you start with or what angle you should be facing. If it all seems to be going wrong………watch this! Whatever you do, we can’t imagine it will ever be this embarrassing.
Our only defence is that Gareth caught his left heel on a rhinestone that had fallen off another dancer’s dress and slid until we were both face down on the floor. That and we were also young! The competition is from 1993 and the venue was Monmouth.
The lesson is……..you pick yourself up, dust yourself down, have a good laugh at yourselves and then get on with it!
This is us dancing at the European Amateur Ballroom Championship in Denmark in 1999. The video shows the 2nd round (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep) and Quarter Final (Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep).
At 2:35 Lisa takes a nasty whack to the head from Arunas Bizokas’ left elbow during the Tango, but being the gentleman he is, he checks she’s ok before carrying on. Arunas has gone on to win every major competition as an Amateur and Professional many, many times, so a bit of the Maverick magic must have rubbed off on him that day!
This is us on Come Dancing in 1995 dancing the Cha Cha Cha. Lisa is wearing light blue. Didn’t we both look young?!
This is from a group dance show we did at The Royal Albert Hall in 2000. The dancers on display are us (purple), James & Claire Taplin (red), Vincent Simone & Flavia Cacace-Mistry (yellow), Axel Rochowsky & Denise Fratepietro (pink), Russell Jenness & Catherine Marsh (orange) and Rory & Katherine Costain (light blue). Choreographed by Christopher Hawkins & Hazel Newbury. Some of you may recognise the music as we have used some of it over the years in shows.
A young Gareth on Blue Peter from 1989. You’ll find me at 5:00 and if you look closely you’ll also spot a young Lisa at 1:45. She’s the one at the back wearing the pink leggings! We weren’t dancing together at this point though.
